Topic Advice Needed
Advice Needed Anonymous writes "I am currently trying to bring my child home via the Hague Convention law. I am an Australian who's child was abducted to Poland by his Mother over 1 year ago. The court case was started about 14 months ago but it seems to be going on forever! And the worst part is that the Polish court seem to be trying to run it as a Custody Case which is complicating things for me.

Any advise would be much appreciated."

Dear Anonymous,

You have not provided too much information about your case, so I will try to be general. First of all, YOU need to know the the Hague Convention Law. It is NOT very complicated. The problem always starts when uneducated judges take the case. Your job is to educate your lawyer. I hope you have a good one. Also, work with the office of the Polish Central authorities in Warsaw (ask for judge Leszek Kuziak). They can be a very good resource and help. They can give you names of attorneys in Poland who now the Hague Convention Law. If not, your job would be to educate them. You may have to go to Poland to testify. Even though this is NOT required by the law, but ... good practice. BTW, what is the name of the city/town where the court decides the case? Anyway, good luck and let me know if you have any questions. You can also leave me a private message (you will need to register to this site) if you don't want to discuss in private.
